Continental Divide Trail
October 2007

The Middle Rio Grande Chapter has supported the Socorro BLM District for a number of years by working on the Continental Divide Trail in the area of Pelona Mountain. This year the task was to pack trail markers to the top of trail on Pelona Mountain and fill in the gaps between the markers that already exist. Along the way, we re-set posts and installed signs.

The wagon train stops just before heading up the road to the camp area.
Checking out the scenery the afternoon before the work project.

We stop to re-install a downed post while Hank adjusts his load of posts.

Once we were out of the valley, the wind was really blowing. Diane took some extra measures to keep her hat on.

Rick stops to put a CDT sign on the fence line along the trail.

Denise even put old Donk to work on this project.
